To All Young Leaders

My name is Clair Turnbull and I am the Explorer Scout Young Leader Training Section leader within the Loddon District. I am responsible for implementing the Young Leader Training Program in the Loddon District. I hope that you will enjoy taking part in this useful and exciting scheme which will not only help you to become a better Young Leader, but hopefully also a better leader for the future.

The scheme is made up of 11 modules, the first module `Prepare for Take-off!` is compulsory to all Young Leaders

You will be given a Certificate of Achievement after your first training module, which will be updated with details of further training module that you attend at least every year.

To help you develop in your leadership role you will undertake a project each year, these projects will be planned and developed in a meeting between you, your section leader and me (or another Explorer Scout Leader (Young Leader))

As a Young Leader you will be a member of the District Explorer Scout Unit. You will be sent a copy of the programme and can take part, or not, as you wish. If there are activities that you wish to do that are not being catered for please let us know so that we can plan them for the future.

The Chief Scout`s Platinum/Diamond Award are very similar to the Duke of Edinburgh`s award scheme, if you are working towards one you can get double recognition by gaining both at the same time. Please let me know if you would like more information about either of these award schemes.
