Loddon District Centenary Activity Day, Woodley Precinct, Sat 7th July
Aerial Runway
We plan to run our Aerial Runway down Woodley Precinct! This would be an excellent project for the Explorers. Mark E and his Dad will need to be closely involved on the design and setup. Current suggestion is Mark's Dad's tower and two heavy vehicles as the anchors. Mark to purchase new bungy ropes.
Colin to look at a clip and pulley rope system to pull Scouts to the top, then a leader posted at the top of tower to unclip the rope, let Scout descend free-style, then lower clip and rope end to be pulled back to start point again.
This would save the complexity and risk of each Scout having to manually climb the tower.
Gateway
Our other plan is for a major pioneering project gateway with all the District's flags mounted on top of it at the Reading Road entrance to the precinct. Flags from all Groups will need to be borrowed for the day.
Please note: All Explorers are expected to attend

“Golly” Camp with Ranger Guides Jul 26th – Aug 4th
A combined Summer Camp between Loddon Explorers and the Hampshire Ranger Guides at their campsite near West Marden in Hampshire.
Golly the ranger Guide Leader and their DC is hosting the Camp, Colin will be coming along to keep best of order, but what happens after that is anyones guess. Locally, there is plenty to do and see. The area itself is fascinating, but there will be plenty of life in the surrounding villages and towns as well hiking opportunities
